Matters of Faith

God loves you - and this is good. It's better than good in fact, it's great. It's so amazingly great it's hard to think of anything that could possibly be better. But do you know what is even better than being loved by the LORD?

Why, being loved MORE by the LORD, of course!

And how do we make God love us as much as He possibly can? Simple - we try our hardest to make sure we are living out our lives the way He would wish us to, and in our every thought and action try to do His will.

Some theologians might start banging on about how "God loves a sinner" - but that's a right load of old rubbish and no mistake. If God loves sinners so much, why does he send them all to Hell for ever and ever and ever eh? I love my cat, right, so I give it treats, scratch it behind it's ears and stroke it silly - I do not chuck it on a fire and leave it there till kingdom come.

So anyway, in order that people can do the best they can for the LORD, we at www.the-church-of-england.co.uk have assembled this most important part of our website. This section offers guidance and advice on all the weighty matters of faith that might be encountered by a person today. We hope it will enlighten, clarify and assist those that read it, and eventually lead them into the loving embrace of the Almighty.

Of course it is up to the individual to do what they will with this information, and I would certainly never dream of trying to coerce or bully a person into taking the material to heart. No sir, I'll leave that to God. He's much better at it than me, as this lovely quote clearly demonstrates:

"The LORD shall smite thee with a consumption, and with a fever, and with an inflammation, and with an extreme burning, and with the sword, and with blasting, and with mildew; and they shall pursue thee until thou perish."
Deuteronomy 28:22

Amen.
